Djursland

Grenaa Forest Lake (Skovsø), in Grenaa, Djursland, Denmark (cc)

Djursland

Djursland is the peninsular tract just to the northeast of Aarhus, along the east coast of Jutland. It enjoys notoriety as one of Denmark's prime destinations in the summertime, offering visitors sandy beaches and a scenic landscape. It also has a good dose of history and culture worth exploring, and myriad activities and adventures besides. The principal towns of interest here are Ebeltoft and Grenaa (see below).

Djursland is accessible from both Aarhus and Randers by road, and from Sjællands Odde on northwestern Zealand by ferry, all of a 45-minute trip away.
