In an even more historic setting is the Café am Dom. It is in the former Reichskammergericht hall, but only a memorial plaque reminds of that glorious former role. Ignore the somewhat dated yellow “café” sign and squeeze by the long counter with the most appetizing cakes and confectioneries into two surprisingly large welcoming rooms. Lighter meals are available, but the real specialties are the cakes and pastries as well as a large selection of teas. Service is fast and friendly.
