The Historischer Kunstbunker im Burgberg (World War II Art Bunker) is where much of Nürnberg’s art was stored duringWorldWar II. In these medieval cellars cut out of rock 24 m (78 feet) underneath the castle, the art was safe from air raids and fires. The bunker can only be seen on the daily guided tour at 3 pm–frankly, there is not much to see here except the bare bunker, some photographs, and the ingenious, simple air-circulation system.
