Now, heading back up Kossuth Lajos út, cross Route 24 and go to the intersection of Fö tér on the left and Petöfi Sándor u on the right. You can walk or drive. We pass the Szent Bertalan Templom (Saint Bartholomew Church), on our left. Dated from the 14th century, it was remodeled later with a Baroque facelift and superb examples of goldsmithing. It houses the second-richest Catholic archive in the country and a unique look into the past. Did you ever wonder what it was like to go to school in 1690? Walk around to the other side of the church to see the 330-year-old grammar school, a protected monument.
