The Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine Arts,in Eatonville (America’s oldest black municipality), honors Hurston, who was an African-American culturalist and author.
The museum offers rotating exhibits by artists of African descent and each January stages the Zora Festival of the Arts&Humanities. (Make sure to call in advance for hours and tours.) It’s 10
miles north of Orlando. Take I-4 north to Lee Road, exit right (east), turn left on Wymore Road and turn right on Lake Avenue.
