The Zellersee is the focus of the region’s water-based activities. The large lake – four km long and over a kilometer wide – is filled by snow run-off rather than by rivers and thus freezes quickly in winter and warms quickly in summer. From late April through October, swimmers enjoy beaches at six locations around the lakes, three of which have heated outdoor swimming pools. Try lake diving with Tauchsport Scholz Hugo at Bahnhofstrasse 13 in Zell.
