From the peak of Schauinsland, a very much adult-orientated eight-km (4.8-mile) downhill run can be done on 26-inch-wheel scooters–the minimum age is 12 years. It requires little effort, except for the hand-operated brakes. Combination tickets, including the scooter, safety equipment, and cable car ride up, are available from the bottom station of the cable car. For information contact Bikers Paradise KG. Opening hours are from May to October on Friday and weekends, 10 am to 6 pm, and from June to early Septmeber daily at the same hours. The course is closed during heavy rain.
