Bad Homburg vor der Höhe
Bad Homburg is in many respects similar to the larger Wiesbaden. It was also the residence of a lesser noble, it has a spa and casino and became popular with the rich and the aristocracy after the area became part of Prussia in the 19th century. Kaiser Wilhelm II used to spend a month each summer here and the Prince ofWales used to sojourn here frequently before he became King Edward VII. His favored style of hat became known as the Homburg.
The wonder waters are still used today to treat rheumatism, stomach and intestinal ailments, heart problems, and skin disease. For the healthy, there are minor historic sites and one of the loveliest spa parks in Germany.
